Long Weekend Holiday at Baguio City

Since late last year, people have been flocking Baguio because of many reasons. One, because we had an undeniable good weather for the year of 2014 (lesser typhoons) especially starting November, so many had took advantage of the cold weather (hello layered clothes!!). Another one is because of the many looong weekends (something that is rare to happen!). And some go because the (not so) newly opened TPLEx made it faster and more convenient to travel to the summer capital of the Philippines.

Right after Christmas Day, my whole family went up there and wished to savor the long weekend. We have been talking about going but really had no definite plans up to the moment we were already on the move. The supposedly 3.5hrs travel time that the news on TV had broadcasted was a big joke on that weekend. Traffic was seriously crazy! We got a bit lost on the way but we still ended up avoiding the traffic. Then when we got there, all the inns and hotels were fully booked! We even got to the point looking for a place at La Trinidad! Yet still no luck. It was very late in the evening at that time so we just decided to sleep off the night in the car parked at Burnham Park then try again early morning. To cut the story short, we had a hopeless case. We just tried to enjoy the scenery and tour a bit before we head to our home in Pangasinan. We then found ourselves wandering at Camp John Hay and then stayed a bit hoping the odds of someone backing out on their reservation will be ours. Come 12nn and my phone rang... our weekend wasn't so bad at all!

WHERE TO STAY
Baguio has a lot of types of accommodations. From transient homes, inns and high end hotels, name it! At the time we were there, we really didn't have a choice but take whatever is available. We were very lucky enough to be called first by The Forest Lodge.

The Forest Lodge is located in Camp John Hay which has a cozy vibe. From wood floors, to an intimate lobby,  to big open windows, it felt like home away from home.

My version of pack-light beach essentials

My office mate invited me and 2 other colleagues to attend his son's christening in his hometown, La Union. It was my first time to be on an out of town trip not meant for vacation/ relaxation. Though in the end, happened to be one.
Since it was just over the weekend, and i will be travelling only by bus, i needed to pack light (which is really not usual to me). I needed to pack two outfits and other essentials that would be appropriate for christening and the reception that will be held at a beach resort. So here i'll be sharing my travel essentials:

Buri Resort and Spa: An Escape Within an Escape Haven

Puerto Galera has been famous of its White Beach a.k.a "a nearer Boracay", so many people chose to stay within that area to enjoy the white sand beach and mostly, the night party life. But for people who are just looking for a quiet vacation, a relaxing scenery, an ESCAPE HAVEN, must check out Buri Resort and Spa.

Buri Resort and Spa is a boutique hotel and resort, fronting the Puerto Galera Bay, which is built with the thicket of trees and shrubberies, and is named after the tree that is naturally inhabits the area - Buri.

Brighter than the sun

Friends come and go. But my friends don't. These girls are here to stay. Maybe not physically, but emotionally. We understand each other. Or maybe not. But that's the beauty of friendship we have built. We don't judge. We have acceptance in our hearts. A big heart for each and everyone to make sure every atom in one's body is nothing but just an atom. And these won't separate us. ♥♥♥

breathe, relax

"For a moment, i was able to breath, relax and enjoy. Away from work, city and social life. "

This was the phrase I used on instagram on how describe my vacation last May 24-26, 2013 at Boracay. It was one of those moment that I was just able to laid my back on the sand, put my shades on and enjoy the rays of the sun on my face and body. Time where i did not bother to check my social sites, emails from work and either take too much effort on photgraph-ing the scenery.

December weekend series 3: Acuatico Beach Resort - First getaway

Hi Everyone!

I have been so much late for posting this blog entry because there are times that I just don't feel like writing. There are moments when I just stare at this blank body page for more than 5 minutes without having any words popping into my mind. Feels like I don't know how to start a sentence to describe my entry. Or maybe I just lack some inspiration at times.

So to get me starting, I wanted to show off some of the pictures I took from my first getaway! Nah, this was not the first time I traveled but this was my first-ever vacation where I purely used my hard-earned money!:) So indulge yourselves with pictures first! maybe I can write better after seeing those lovely photos;)

start

HI EVERYONE!!

Today, I finally had the time to push through writing in a blog again. What had inspired me? Or should I say who inspired me was Tricia Gosingtian and Patty Laurel. Last October 14, 2012, I attended the BDJ Fair for this year which had different categories of talk from different people. Being an avid reader of fashion/lifestyle blogs, I decided to sit on Blogger's Extraordinaire segment.

First part of the segment was Patty Laurel giving a talk about blogging and travelling. She had emphasized the true meaning of blogging which was "to be able to share good things".
